Does anyone know anything about the background of Air Mekong, a new airline operating in Vietnam?

I saw an ad in a magazine today in Saigon and looked them up. They operate four CRJ 900s on internal flights. Their website says that the registered office is on Phu Quoc Island (which seems odd) and that they are affiliated with Atlantic Southeast Airlines, who will be doing their pilot training in Atlanta.

Amusingly, the beautiful tropical beach shown on their website
Air MeKong (http://www.airmekong.vn/Sites/Web/en-Us/Home) is not in Vietnam. It is El Nido Resort on Palawan in the Philippines. ;)

Just another remark by you to boost your ego and self esteem.

Suppose it makes you feel very powerful ? Well done hero.

Go seek some professional help I say.

Guys....do a quick look at this kid's (duyetranvan) previous posts..... His post is, I suppose his calling card. He posts a lot about VNA topics as well as showing off xenophobic attitudes & abuse on another thread where a low hour Aussie pilot asked for information about flying in Sth East Asia. "Stay in your own backyard aussie!!!" All the while himself being an expat pilot working abroad!!!

Many posts are one liners not offering but telling others how "I'll teach you how to fly an airbus! (320 or 330)".

So if you believe this pre-pubescent wonder he's a TRE on the A330 with VNA, a TRE on the CRJ900 with this new airline (??) but by all accounts a whimpering "Yes Capt! Yes Capt!" FO at VNA on the A320 or ATR. And if this immature fool really is an Airbus Capt (least of all TRI/E!!!) then pity help the traveling public that suffer from such leadership.

I had heard that they want to hiring locals, but are considering all applicants. The Americans that are there now will be facilitating the start-up, with an eventual move to a national airline.

It is El Nido Resort on Palawan in the Philippines.

I have flown from Nino Aquino (domestic) to El Nido on Soriano Aviation's Casa turboprops (unpressurised). I won't know whether they still exist though.

Apparently Air Mekong is going to introduce further CRJ900 aircraft to the fleet this year. Any indication if they will pick up further used examples (eg. ex-Brit Air) or are they looking at purchasing new NextGen models directly from Bombardier?
