I hear there has been a hush hush pre accident report written :oh:

Anyone know details?

Bizarre. There is no such thing. An Accident or Incident Report, but not a pre accident report.

If you need to know, you would.

A gentleman called Michel de Nostredame (better known as Nostradamus) would possibly be able to help you here. He's been dead for few hundred years but I don't think that would be a problem, he can probably communicate from 'the other side'.

The answer to the Pre- Accident report lies here (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/mystic_meg/daily_stars/article1369426.ece)

There was a pre-accident report on a Lindholme Hastings once.

QFI and Staish were doing CT. After one approach at an away base the QFI told the Staish, if that was at Lindholme you would have hit the fence.

They returned to Lindholme and the Staish proved the QFI was right. :}

Maybe he means the rumour that the whole Tristar fleet is about to be grounded due to fatigue cracking on the wing/tail whatever.

More than just a rumour......watch this space.

Me thinks the civvie charter and C17 force will be very busy for the next 2 years supporting the airbridge and nothing else.

The Tristar recently celebrated 40 years of flying...... Probably time for a dignified retirement.

My money's on a tail whatever. They've had no end of issues with them! :}

It's not a problem, simply tear the gubbins out of the MRA4's that are now lying all over the place doing naught and fit the Tristar seats........after all they are brand new 40 year old aircraft...... we could call it the Meteor Mk2..no, that's not right... erm.... I know.... The Comet Mk2

That should keep people in jobs for the next 15 years and cost Billions

Surely Arfur Daley of that well-known Tab aviation company (who brought the glass cockpit TriShaw into service in record time....:hmm:) are on the case with speed tape and some tape, black, bodge?

Or is it time for the sucking-teeth, rolling-eye expression of the garage mechanic who tells you that he can't patch up your old heap to get it through the MoT any longer?

No NUTLOOSE, we've had a Comet Mk 2. First flew in one in the autumn of 1958 (XK669).

It would have to be a 'Comet Mk 5' or even a 'Nimrod C5'.

'Nimrod C5'

Pedalling it would keep the siggies and navs employed for a bit longer I suppose?

If you added an interdictor role to that as well, it would become the Ci 5

Maybe it could be named the Ci 5 Cowley

35?? And the rest I would have thought - seems much longer ago than 30 years, but maybe not. Now what did I have for supper?

Saw 2 Tristars in the maintenance facility in Abu Dhabi last week - guess they were getting fatigue checked like the A321 I was picking up..?

They're probably just in for routine maintenance. If it was anything more serious they wouldn't have flown them out to the Middle East to be checled, they would have been done where they stood.

Ohh I wouldn't say that, I remember a VC10 many moons ago they discovered a wing crack that was leaking fuel a couple of inches long ( remember the way they produced the wings it could open up like a zip ) the crew flew it back to the UK from Hong Kong before mentioning it!!!!!!

That surprises me. I thought Hong Kong was one of those ideal places to go tech.

It is sad that I wasn't even surprised at the headline of this thread.
