Advice about Flight Planning System

Hello,

We've been using Flitestart IFR for time. Now we want to move to another system that offers better capabilities.

I found Flitestart very bad planning routes, normally never are accepted by eurocontrol so we have to enter manually. And also for the aircraft modeling. They are thinking to upgrade to the Flitestart Corporate, but y think we will have the same problems.

We are a small airline and have 5 turboprops composed by SA226/227 and EMB120, with scheduled and charter flights. So we need a economic solution to give a alternative.

I've been looking a lot in internet and asking for information. But, i'll like to have some advice. What programs do you know and think will be suitable for us? Web based could be good for us.

How many flight plans are you running per month? There are a few providers that have a pay per use in addition to fleet pricing: AirData and PPS come to mind.

Personally, I like Navtech, but I have not used their new program. The demo looks good though, and I would use that program.

Another (relatively) budget flight planning program is SkyPlan, also out of Canada. Still another one is Universal Weather in Texas, they do not offer their services to US Part 121 airlines though, so if you are a JAR equivalent, they might not be able to service you either.

We run about 150 FPL, maybe int the future will increase. As far i know the company will increase the fleet and is going to offer operation services to small airlines like us.

That's the problem if the work increase we need a good tool

JetPlan offers both fixed rate and per click pricing structures, so could be great for your operation, and should be reasonable simple to move form FliteStar to Jetplan.

Dear All,

We have used PPS for many years now, it is extremely good for CFMU areas, but a real hassle for the longer range stuff. Jeppesen are great, but you need to do a careful cost-effective review on numbers X Fleet, etc.

At this moment we are thinking to move to Jetplan or PSS. I know people that use PSS to plan flights around Europe flying SA227 and they are very happy.

Hi all,

Maybe a bit off record, but is anybody using JetPlanner also operating EROPS & ETOPS flights? For ETOPS JetPlanner seems ok, but for EROPS we have to use many 'tricks' :ugh:to get a proper and somehow legal flightplan out of the system. According Jeppesen this has to do with the difference between EU-OPS & FAA regulations with regards to EROPS operations. Anybody the same experience?

Can recommend Navtech NFP. The user interface features maps, notams & weather. Really nice and very easy to use.

Been using the Navtech NFP and before that Web FP, find it ideal and I'm sure with a little negotiating you can get a decent price.
