When did Toulouse start producing the Nuclear version of the 340? I must have been unconscious when they released that version! :ok:

As it was an A340-300 you cannot blame RR!;)

Rumour is that the engine ( or at least a large part of it) actually fell off the wing. Landed back safely, AF is extremely quiet about it. If that is the case it is an accident not an incident and the BEA should investigate.

On one of the insurers incidents/accidents logging site there is an entry on 01.09.2010 for an A340-300 (F-GCZM) from CDG to BOG returning after " technical problems " to CDG. Could be the one. No guarantee.

Thanks for your answer. It could be the same plane. I just know that the explosion happened at 13000 ft. Do you know if there is a possibility to log on the insurers site that you have told ? Another question : you talk of an A340 F-GCZM, but I didn't found any A340 whith this identification. There's just an Air France A330 F-GZCM. Are you sure of what you've write ?

It was F-GLZM

Thanks a lot. I'm now sure that's this plane that I've talked about. But the link, as well as the website crash-aerien, seems to be not available anymore...

Something here, mentions returning after about an hour into a CDG->Bogota flight:

Aircraft required mechanical attention on the ground.
