Waiting for DGCA to come out with their dates for 2011. Curious if they ask for the medical as a pre-requisite prior to taking the exam?

If they ask it'll be ridiculous and plain stupid. Till date you DO NOT need a medical to write an exam.

Indirectly YES.As to appear in the examination you need to have certain hours logged. So indirectly YES but there is no regulation stating the requiremnt of Class ! medicals.

Thats how it is, ridiculous and stupid.

You cannot take a written exam without a holding a medical at least an expired Class 2.

For conversion well you have medical of Foreign State
For issuance, you need minimum 25 hrs flight or soem combination... for which you need a SPL...
