Via the "bush grapevine" (aka - friend of mine - layperson on the flight) I heard that a 400 series (BA85 LHR YVR) had a moment on final into YVR last night - seems that they had a runway incursion and had to go-around at the last minute - from what I can gather they were ~ 500ft.

Thats all the info I have - does anyone else know anything about this?

500ft? That's over a mile and a half from touchdown. Hardly anything for your friend to to worry about so please reassure him/her.

I suppose it's tough competing for attention with an A380 near crash almost onto (not a million miles from) Barack Obama's former school.

Or why bother....

P.S. what's a lay person? A hostie?

There is nothing listed (so far) about any kind of British airways incident in Vancouver.

Title changed to something more appropriate. My internet lack of experience is showing

A go-around is not news and it is not rumour. It is a normal event in the day to day business of aviation.

My internet lack of experience is showing

... and so is your lack of experience in aviation.
