I'm another regional pilot in the USA with thousands of right seat time. All on CRJ.

Anyone got any ideas? I'm willing to go anywhere tomorrow (literally). Looking for a change of scenery... With 5000+ hours of flight time.

Congratulations you are flying the modern day equivalent of the DC-9-10, BAC-111 or the FK-28 and you are still not happy? Why?

You are flying a pressurized swept wing jet with at least one Flight Attendant what more could you want?

Where ever you are based you now fly into airports that only ten years ago had 737-200, MD-80 or 727-200 service at least three times a day and yet you still complain?

Where did those mainline jobs go?

Not gonna find much luck in Europe on an FAA ticket with no work permit/citizenship unless you find a N-reg airplane to fly.

Am I going crazy, kwateow the link you posted specifically said non FAA ATPL's!

Does that mean Not FAA ATPL, or is that statement written for those who don't have a FAA ATPL to indicate that this non FAA ATPL is also ok?

Too early to get my head round that one.

implies to me at least that they invite applications for this position from holders of licences acceptable to the JAA

Halfnut: Do we know each other and do you have a problem with me? I'm puzzled as to what your point was and how did it progress the thread, namely the question i was asking. Thanks for contributing absolutely nothing.

Everybody else, I appreciate the offers and ideas! Thank you for trying! It truly is appreciated. I've tried various outfits, but like some of you have mentioned, it's either time on type or JAA license both of which I don't have. So I've got toilet paper hours.... lots of them and nothing useful to do with them ;-)

I can't suggest anything immediately.

But with 5000 total and thousands of hours on type, I would have to assume that you are senior enough to hold CA as some junior base? So take the upgrade (and the bad quality of life), get 500 hours PIC, then go to China, as they will accept the US certificate without a problem and will be hiring for the foreseeable future..

Ahhhhhhhhhhh downwindabeam,

Now I understand, you suffer from an affliction called "Shinny Jet Syndrome" or more commonly called SJS.

Here is more information for you to help you with your extreme case of SJS:
