Tiger handling were good and for hotels, the Ritz-Carlton - reasonable price(via Tiger handling), has own beach and shops are also nearby.

The Marriott in Sharm is good, but on both sides of the road..

Book on line and quote TVL as the corporate code, and compare the rate that this provides.

As to handling I agree Tiger is Ok, they are all as good as each other in my opinion.

Hilton Dreams is good and popular with other crews. Go to Pirates bar too which is on the complex. Short walk to Nama bay along the beach. Also if you can stretch to it, the Four Seasons is rather lush!

I second the Hilton Sharm dreams Hotel.

Plenty close by, good snorkelling off of the beach.

Camel Bar is good for a few drinks.

Never had a bad experience with Tiger either, have been one of the better handlers in the ME, Cairo included.

O.K guys,

1. Ensure when you arrive that you have secured a parking position.
2. Advise them that you refuel with pressure and not with gravity.
3. Advise your pax to call you when they arrive, because Tiger might bring the wrong pax to the aircraft.
4. Some strangers while you walk, will tell you they work at the Hotel you stay and they will try to walk you to different shops. They actually name the Hotel you stay!
5 Don't forget they ask for General Declaration
6 Only VOR 4R is in use, 4L is closed and carry some extra fuel, because communication's are difficult and many russian aircraft in and out.
7. When you land they ask for registration, pax on board, entry point.
8. If your fuel is with credit, with Tiger, some times they will ask BP card.DON'T GIVE.
9. Behind the fake smile, watch out...

Jeeez Locust, you will probably never be happy flying that part of the world (and maybe a little bit more).

Its basic common sense, it is still Africa, Middle East and there will always be these problems. These people are paid peanuts and they see a bunch of rich people climbing on and off shiny flying machines they will look for ways to make a buck and yes not everybody that handles you has a Bsc in nuclear power such as in the shiny EU.

Be polite yet hold your ground talk always to the manager and keep the number for the head office in your phone book. The Quality manager for Tiger is really good guy. You will have to work a little bit to make sure that the operations run smoothly.

So when you get back to your smart airport and all the paid help is there to hold your hand you can tell you war stories of going HESH to all you other flying buddys.

Now when we were in Yemmem...................................................... .

Well, I've been couple of times in HESH, never had a problem.
Why on earth should anyone fly VOR to 4R, when there is GPS for 4R available on request? Only strange thing in Luxor, CAI and Sharm is, that they have STARS and SIDs, but you will never get them. R/T could also be a bit pain.. but the other hand, in NCE you will also get very rarely ILS - and nobody complains..

Yes Epsum, the thing about the GPS approach also crossed my mind :-)
Still awaiting parking permission (for 7 nights)................................

Think it's the Hilton Feyrouz which is on the beach and close to pirates bar. The Dreams is across the main (lethal) road! Cracking hotel.

Check your Notams. SID's and STAR's are suspended ufn. This means radar vectors on arrival and departure. As a result you cannot use your VNAV you must follow their altitudes and headings.
Remember, people are not patient with the radios and they have the tendency to step each other with the mic. The same way as they do here.
Have a safe trip.
