News from Brazil!!!
Transbrasil will be cutting flights to several destinations in Brazil. They say it's a cost cutting measure since these routes are unprofitable. They have a codesharing agreement to fly the Sao Paulo Rio shuttle w/ Varig, but this will not continue. Their codesharing to Portugal will continue until next year. Rumors have it that TB will stop operating the 767 is August. This is yet to be confirmed.
So far, Varig is still hiring a class of at least 10 every month. Tam is still going strong and RG does have to watch out for them. The other start-ups are still expanding their fleets. Nacional Airlines has now a fllet of 2 737-200 and their routes network is expanding fast. Their plan is to have 6 airplanes by the end of this year. So far so good. Let's hope things keep this way

Thanks for latest news Mad Dog 11. Long live Brazilian aviation. I would so love to visit Brazil and get a feel for the country, her people and her aviation. Must be great.

Heard a judge denied the request made by GE to fold Transbrasil! At least they can still fly for now , but how long will this endure? I hope they can sort the things out.
