A Cessna 206 (ELA) crashed over the weekend at South Grafton.

It was being used by Coffs City Skydivers, with the same pilot who crashed a 207 FIF earlier this year for the same company at Coffs.

Yet again, engine failure has been blamed.

Coincidence?

Is sarge75 after somebodys job or maintenance work ?..:hmm:

Perhaps waiting for a report from the crash investigators is the prudent thing..;)

Not alluding to anything......

But have done Glider towing and 'Meatbombing', and the best thing to learn - is how to keep the engine temps /pressures in the 'normal' range, whilst at the same time, coaxing an aeroplane into the slow climb to the prearranged altitude, usually fairly high, then power back for the drop, then the fastest descent known to man or brick
- all in the interest of MORE jumps @ LESS cost - to them!!:ugh:

Not saying anything......Several examples of this around the place.

Was at Camden once watching a nice little Super Cub towing gliders aloft at a hectic rate - up to alt. close throttle, dive down and land - sometimes 'deadstick' - "to save fuel you know"....was the comment when I queried him.:ugh:
Had a yarn to the jump-master and was told!!
In no uncertain manner....

Heard later that said Cub had eng exhaust valve problems and was going to be 'expensive'....

We do live and learn. Like I said, not alluding to ANYTHING.

Just a sharing of some of life's experiences.:ok:

Cheers:ok::ok:

The problem is Griffo, when you tell someone who thinks they already know how to operate an engine, that they are not necessarily operating it efficiently, more often than not, you will get a negative response.

Sometimes you are better off just nodding your head and agreeing. Likewise if someone has a suggestion to yourself, always listen and evaluate what they are saying. Don't close your mind due to your own pre-conceived ideas as sometimes you may learn something (hey Roxy :))

I think the complexities of piston engine operation (horizontally opposed) to ensure long life while conducting parachute operations were well established years ago.

Unless there has been vast technological advances in piston engine, the same would apply today and the newbies may learn a thing or two from those whoe have been there done that.
