Hello friends,

I need some information about the renewal procedure of my HT. I need to do it, and Iīm not sure how.

First question is, What should I do to have my CRJ HT for one more year on my license, and how much that could cost?

Second, If i decide to donīt renew it, what would I have to do when I wish to go back to fly CRJ?

Thanks!!!

Contact the authorities that issued your license, requirements may, and do vary from one country to another (although all are supposed to follow JAR's).
If it is a spanish issued license and you are going to use a foreign TRE check with them beforehand if it's ok and get the renewal form in the spanish version (down-loadable from the spanish website, not easy to find but it's there).

I read a while ago that in order to renew in one sim session you need to have flown the aircraft in the preceding months, but can't remember how many sectors or hours, if you haven't flown the aircraft in the preceding year then you need to do a 2 sim sessions, one as training and the other for renewal.

AFAIK in Europe there are CRJ simulators in Berlin and in Madrid, there are probably more.

Good luck with your renewal:ok:

Thanks for your answer LEVC.
Actually I have to deal with the Spanish CAA, and what I realy wish to know is if is it worth it to renew my ht now without a job, or I rather wait. Since if I wish to start working with a new company I will have to pass a OPC anyway, wouldnt that be exactly the same if my HT were already expired? and if yes, for how long could I have the ht expired to be able to renw it just with a sim session?

Regards!

Make sure you renew it before 2 years from the expiration date, you can also check that in their website, there is a document which explains about the renewal process.
Basically it says that if your type rating expires, after 2 years you have lost it for good, meaning you would have to do a complete type rating course to get it back.

If I was you, I would get it renewed, you never know when a job offer will come up, but if you do not want to spend the money every year, I suggest you renew it every 2 years to avoid losing your type rating.

Good luck with your job hunting.
