View Full Version : How's the weather

It's October and in the spring I hope to start and complete my FAA conversion in the UK (finished the exams).

I have a number of schools lined up...just need to pick one.

However, I am neither from the UK nor do I live there. Is the weather at all cooperative in the spring? Is it even realistic that March/April offers any sort of VFR flying weather on the island?

Was a CFI on the West Coast in the US and the weather there is predictable enough to suggest to students when to start flying (as far as months go).

No one has any comments to this? I am planning on going to Bonus Aviation in March/April and want to make sure I don't end up sitting on the ground for weeks on end.

There's no way to answer your question reliably. British weather is notoriously bad and unreliable all year round. We do have nice periods but they tend to be sporadic and hard to predict. We just seem to live under a grey, leaking cloud all year. :(

I guess I'll have to take my chances then.

Thanks.
