Heard low-flying Dakota this afternoon but rushed out too late to get any details, just saw it disappearing in direction of Abingdon/Oxford, MIGHT have been painted with "Invasion stripes"?
Anyone any idea what it was and where it was going to/from? Probably a memorial display?
Thanx.

Don't have any answers for you but, I would guess this was the same aircraft that flew over Chineham, Hampshire in an easterly direction around 11:30 today.

Could be the same one that passed over Bagshot Mast at about 11:45 today heading north.

Is good old G-AMPY still flying in invasion stripes?

Saw it over Yeovilton last Tuesday.
Does it still carry passengers or did the EASA rules finally stop this?

There is a Dakota based at Kemble with invasion stripes, not sure of the registration though, possibly that one?

It could be either C-47 serial N1944A / 315211 or C-47 N473DC / 2100882 (Named Drag-'em-oot)
A superb display at Duxford Autumn Airshow, 10th Oct 2010.

Thanx for replies and info.
I got the impression it was dark green so quite probably 315211 from the picture.
