Finally DGCA seems to have woken up and realized its time to replace our current historical and ancient professional pilot licenses with plastic cards.
A good move in the right direction. I hope DGCA reorganizes itself to maintain standards and adapt procedures that are on par with the so-called developed world.
Jai Hind!

Just saw the tender being released for it..
My predictions are that it should go public from the mid of 2011.

The tender date was extended, apparently nobody responded, after all who will get into commercial relations with lethargic DGCA for a business of few hundred cards a month.

:= I'm so gonna miss the seal-ridden license, especially the shreds of my FRTO .... plus plastic's bad for earth , recycled soggy paper used for our licenses are so eco friendly ....plus the chicks love it and traffic cops think I'm important....
oh well we can always blame the expats for it...:{

Well if the Plastic Cards come into play, that would mean a further delay of 30-40 days in issuing licence.
