I have just downloaded and installed FF 3.6.10 onto my new netbook. Whenever I click on my homepage I get the current page goes to my homepage AND a new tab opens with the title in the tab "Mozilla Firefox Start Page". Most odd, and a bit frustrating. I can't find anything in my tools - options which explains this behaviour (not that I have messed with any of the settings). I am not new to FF and don't have this with any of my other several installs.

Any ideas anyone?

rans6andrew, try resetting the home page:
Set a single web site as your home page

If you like to keep things simple, here’s how to set your home page in three easy steps.
Watch a video of these instructions

Open up the website you want to be your home page.
Click on the icon to the left of the web address, drag it to the Home button and then let go.

Click Yes
to set this as your home page.Try it out: Click the Home button and your new home page will load in the current tab. It doesn’t get much easier than that!

I had problems with 3.6.x, so I jumped to the 4 beta - no regrets, recommend it.

Just check that your must-have add-ons are supported, though.

But there appears to be a problem with it as the Photobucket site wont work with it, I have to switch to the IE tab

ah! spotted the deliberate mistake. I had set google as my home page but the url was far more complicated than the Google (http://www.google.co.uk) and it was calling itself again as it opened. With FF set to open "in a new tab it did what it did".

GG you are ahead of yourself..

Very odd, still providing I don't meet myself coming back I'll be OK. :ok:

GG routinely installs the beta, if I remember. So GG's running the beta Build 2.

I am running the beta of V4 . I suppose it's possible that I was offered the beta of 3.6.11 at some point and automatically installed it without noticing it was a beta.
