Any news on this? There are various reports in the Baltic region press, both of the Latvian government wishing to dispose of it's controlling stake in the airline and of Hainan being a willing and able suitor.
The Flick family (who own 48% and run the airline) have said that they will not rule out buying the remainder of the airline, and have said that they will not block the sale.

There was a company AGM these last two days , but as yet no public statement, soon some info I imagine.
Slightly confused messages, on the 1 hand Herr Flick said he wouldn't rule out attempting to finance a buy out of the government shares, on the other hand he is saying he wouldn't invoke his right of first refusal if the government shares came up for grabs. :hmm: :*
Well, election day is very soon, and. . politicians are just that, politicians , so who knows.
But don't cancel your order for that Berlitz Chinese course just yet. :8

And there is rumours, that George Soros will buy out a share of Flick.
Seems that at this moment nobody will know what, when or will happen with BT.
In the mean time, there are rumours that Flick will establish a new airline in Vilnius, and BT will not see the next spring if somebody (be it Hainan, Soros, or Latvian government) dont give enough funds for winter.

BT did a pretty aggressive recruitment and now they will go swimming if the Gov do give them money! That sounds a bit strange!
