$3900 a month housing allowance plus another $1400 a month for each of the first 2 children at SIN schools.

So, the answer is between $3900 and $6700 a month. Plus one supposedly free (taxed as a benefit in kind) return air fare (you also pay the airport taxes) for you plus family to nearest on line destination to point of recruitment

Cheers for that, so I take it that you have to be crazy to take the local T&Cs!

With Family yes, you would be a little nuts.

Single, possibly but only worthwile if you you intend to stay in Singapore long term, otherwise no use in taking up the local terms.
But even single and on local terms, due to the cost of living in Singapore, there are better places.

Either case you earn ok but you don't save much.

What would be a typical take home salary for a skipper with family on expat terms?
How about a typical roster?
Days off?
Thanks.
