Indigo & Go Air Medical Exam

Hi guys, i dont know if its right to post this question here, but, i want to know from the people who are working for go air and indigo, and also to the people who know the right stuff, as to where are the Medical Exams conducted for these two companies in Delhi... and what is the Eye Exam like ,eg: what are the tests they conduct for the eyes, like ishihara test or lantern test for the colour vision, or the Cover test to detect perception depth etc.

and i want to know the accurate stuff and no guesswork please. Also if any expats working for indigo could provide an input regarding the eye exam it will be appreciated..

are all the tests exactly the same that are done for the class 1 medical issue for indian nationals.

even i would like to know what are the medicals like.. are they more difficult than the class one.. guys from jet and spice who just got selected, please shed some light on this...thankyou.

regarding the jet:
the tests are all same as class 1 except that you dont have to do eeg
but instead of that you need to do stress test (treadmill test)
thats it
rest other tests are
blood (lipid, sugar fasting, etc etc)
urine
chest x ray
ent with audiometry
eyes test
stool test (even this is not done in class 1)

if you remember then could you provide some detail as to what were the tests conducted for the eyes... also laser correction is allowed in india or will it be a problem. i appreciate your quick response. thank you mate. :D

you are welcome
for the eyes the tests were normal as it is done in routine check including a check for spectacle number of your eyes and then glaucoma and if required they may even dilate your pupils but it is done for only few people
regarding the laser treatment i am not sure of
you wil have to consult any dgca class 2 doctor for it
they can guide you properly

do they do the ishihara test, and do they make you read all the plates in the book or they just make you read a few.... and is there some other test that they do for the colourvision... thanx

oh yes how can i forget that test
actually they make you do ishihara test twice
once by jet doctors and again by hospital staff
you will have to read all the plates
they do check your eyes with machine but i dont think they do any other colorblindness test with them

thankyou mate, that was helpful... but i didnt understand the machine checking part, what exactly do they ask you to do or look in the machine... were you selected recently with jet or you have been associated with them since long, not that it matters to me much, but i have heard its a very good company to work for in india..

you will have to consult some ophthalmologists for the exact answer
jet airways is one of the best airlines to work with

Im really curious too .. how long have you been working in jet airways ?

If you're saying working with 9w is an "enjoyable experience" and "one of the best airlines to work with", care to elaborate how ?

From my stints in jet and kingfisher and a few other airlines in this region, I can say it was a below than average experience.
Many reasons, but i'll stop here for now.

it's quite amusing to watch this desperation amongst newbies to act like decades-experienced commanders when in truth they're in the SAME boat as any unemployed little piston engine kid. Equally funny is to watch the SAME attitude being carried forward when a copilot gets his first command and immediately tries to act as if he's been on the left seat for 25 years and expects to be called SIR.:}:}:}

I'd like to add my 2 bits to this - working means you are a CONFIRMED employee, not even if you're on probation. Until such time, and even after that, keep your feet firmly on earth otherwise you'll one day end up in a situation where you'll be forced to literally do that.
