eagleflier, that was a trick question and you answered it, the guy should have gone straight to the point with the question: What are the job prospects in Air Nigeria?

Just look at the title of his thread!

Go to the website Air Nigeria - AN Careers (http://myairnigeria.com/en/ng/jobs/pilot.html) and download the application form then fill it and send it in.
Remember, only the best need apply.(thats what the website says)

Depending on your experience level, you'll be invited for an assessment.(hand-eye coordination, arithmetic, instruments interpretation)
If you pass the assessment, then next stage is interview.

If you fail but have a relevant type rating, you'll be invited for a make up test.
If you pass the make-up test, you'll be invited for an interview.

The interview is quite short, questions are asked based on the way you answer your first question. plate briefing is a given.

If you are successful, then you get offered employment.

Good Luck

DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT REPRESENT AIR NIGERIA IN ANY CAPACITY

Thanks very much Eagleflyer for the infos.A buddy of mine who flies for VK sent me the application form which i filled and duly sent it to them attached with my resume.I'm a new type-rated but just a low-timer i don't know if they could consider altough i know they hired low-timers.Anyway let's wait and see how it goes.I suppose if i'm called for the interview i will only do what's relevant to the type-rated or i'll do the whole process with eye coordination etc...?

I'm considering joining Air Nigeria.
I hear Lagos is a nighmare for security.
Is anyone working for them that can offer some insight?

N1 limit,

everyone does the initial assessment. if you pass, type rated or not, you go straight to interview. they are actively seeking and employ fresh cpl pilots.
stop by at their office at MMA1 and ask to see the DFO or any one else. if he's there, he'll see you.

good luck

yes lagos is dangerous, you could get robbed shot or kidnapped,by gangs, they especially target expat pilots, like you.

You want jet time for free?nothing goes for nothing!

stay home boy,a uk major will surely employ you some day with your cpl/frozenatpl and zero jet time!!!

Do they require you to have a type rating? Also what is the time line between the initial tests and the interview.

That was uncalled for! I was just asking about life in Lagos.
There was no need for the attempt at sarcasm, or was that an attempt at humour?
target expat pilots, like you. Do you have something against expat pilots?

You want jet time for free?nothing goes for nothing! stay home boy,a uk major will surely employ you some day with your cpl/frozenatpl and zero jet time!!!

You assume a great deal from so little information, do you normally make such sweeping judgements about fellow pilots you know nothing about?

So, does anyone have any helpful info they can share?

Chap,

You are looking for a job in a place so notorious that it is discussed in expat circles as the non choice place of work.

The reason you likely incurred 18L's response is because I as an expat read it and groaned myself.

It's Nigeria!!!

Is it safe? Well it's safer than Afghanistan.
Are you welcome? Well not really they just want bums on seat.
You either need a job or you don't. If you are a low hours pilot who wants a jet job then this may be the way for you to get it.
If you don't want it, then someone else will.

Your contract will not be worth the paper it is printed on, it will likely be unenforceable, your employer may be here today gone tomorrow but the planes are there, they need pilots and you may even get paid for a bit. So you have to decide where you are on the scale of desperation.

It's a horrendous place to live, the standard of living is unbelievably bad, the quality of life not much better. It isn't safe, friendly or welcoming to expats. The best understood concepts are pay day and knocking off time. Nobody is really interested in doing anything other than giving you a 30 minute excuse as to why they didn't do what would have taken 5 minutes or the favourite of why it is someone else's fault.

You would be getting yourself into this well documented arena. Now do not get me wrong Air Nigeria is not Arik there are nicer people involved but not that much nicer they still do not really care about you or anyone other than themselves, this is Nigerian aviation they do not have the capacity to do something for anyone other than themselves regardless of legality.

So if you can deal with the above apply and take it if you get it. If you can't then guess we will see you when those of us who served our time here are sitting in your LHS when you eventually get something else.

Has anybody tried to fill out the application that is posted on their website? On the last page it won't let me date or sign the application. Whenever i click on that page it goes back to page 1.

worldflyer 777,
yes you are required to have a type rating. If you are successful with the interview and do not have a type rating, you'll be required to pay for your own type rating.
Took about a month for me to be called for interview after passing the assessment.

Hi Everyone

I have a FAA CPL with IR and MER with TT 260 hrs and no type rating. I am considering to apply for Air Nigeria as they are recruiting with TT of 220 hrs. Are they hiring expats with low timers and no rating..?

I afraid they are no longer hire low timers, I heard that from a friend of mine who could get in with 250 TT.
