I'm doing some research for a friend. He has bought an ultralight and is trying to find an Instructor to learn him how to make it go. He already has a VH license.

He is getting big variations in the hourly rate for an Instructor, using his own aircraft.

Could someone tell me what is a realistic hourly rate to pay an AUF Instructor.

Thanks

In the real world they should charge $80 an hour like your local motor mechanic or plumber. Practically, the industry won't stand those rates, so a lot of these guys are instructing in their spare time as a part-time hobby. It may come as cheap as half that rate. Shop around.

Should be able to find someone around 50 bucks an hour or there abouts.

"....and is trying to find an Instructor to learn him how to make it go"

Gee, I hope he finds an instructor that can write English proper!
