I'm based in Munich but have done all my PPL flying in the UK as often back over there.

Now I've decided to buy my first Helicopter (Enstrom Shark) and bring into Germany from UK. I'm looking to build some contacts in Munich and figure out how to register and where to hangar the machine. I speak ok German but not finding much on the internet.

Any advice, contacts appreciated.

Try helikopterfliegen.de (http://www.helikopterfliegen.de/), the admin is based in or around Munich if I am not wrong. If he isn't, I am sure there is somebody else who is.

It might be easier (not only on your wallet) to use a smaller airport around Munich as your base. I had a ship down at the Lake of Constance and flew for a while in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. These larger airports in Germany often charge you for a shuttle from the apron to the C-office, which you could walk in 45 seconds if they would let you ;-) Not a nice environment at all, even if based there.

Hello!

and figure out how to registerTry

Luftfahrt Bundesamt - Homepage (http://www.lba.de/cln_011/DE/Home/homepage_node.html)

and where to hangar the machineDifficult!

Maybe you ask

Standorte | HTM Helicopter Travel Munich GmbH (http://www.helitravel.de/company/location/)

or have a look at

Deutscher Hubschrauber Verband e.V. (http://www.dhv-org.de/pages/schulen.html)

or

Wapedia - Wiki: Liste der Verkehrs- und Sonderlandeplätze in Deutschland (http://wapedia.mobi/de/Liste_der_Verkehrs-_und_Sonderlandepl%C3%A4tze_in_Deutschland)

Viel Glück!

There are plenty of small airfields around Munich:

Airfield Jesenwang (http://www.flugplatz-jesenwang.de/) a small airfield west of Munich.

airfield Oberschleissheim (http://www.ednx.de/) north of Munich

airfield Dachau (http://www.ac-dachau.de/index.html?0102) also north of Munich

or you change your Enstrom into an Eurocopter product and ask HTM Heli Travel Munich (http://www.helitravel.de/contact-impress/) to hangar it for you.

Depending where in Munich you are, Salzburg,Austria might be an alternative.

I've come across an R22 with 400+ hours and 6 years to go (50k)... interested to buy it but would only do about 50 hours a year...

Is there anyone out there in the Munich area who is interesting in sharing ownership?
