just wanted to share this link:http://econflights.com/downloads/Install.exe, it is the one that I've posted before sometime that has info about the OVF & LDG permissions, how to learn in depth about them and obtain by yourself if you want.

Be careful how you use this information as a quick scan shows a number of errors. For example I dont believe India overflights are valid for advanced departures of -12 hours. I certainly wouldnt want an aircraft overflying India if it was -12 hours before the granted permission. I can foresee a hefty diversion under those circumstances.

Seems weird that econflights would provide such information but display under services that they can obtain 'overflight and landing permissions' on behalf of the operator. Is'nt this information going against what you are trying to sell?

not sure what they stand for but I've just provided the link, nonetheless, with regards to India the info is OK as we've done the same in Dubai, but, it was done through a handling agent to be more persuasive, if your company could not do it then your company sucks!

it is just a link that I've wanted to share with you guys and it seems there are some complains unfounded even if it is free, if you are professional you should know that nothing is fix in the CAA in order to obtain the permission, some operators even if you give them the number they will still go through an agent, lame, for Syria or Sudan maybe but for Lebanon it is stupid, i think this is why they offer service along with the product, I mean there are people out there still applying for Somalia OVF!!

your comment was more to discourage the people to see the info, are you from a broker?? just let us share the info!!!

I would say it is not perfect, but, hey you get something for free and complain!

Just seen the info, it's great thanks :D and it has the forms too, really interesting, it is ture that some operators choose also brokers in order to escape the navigation fees at least for a moment, but it will cost them 10% more! i think this is why the service is present along with the product.

Sometimes many things are free in the aviation field, it is just a matter of knowing the right people (friends).

Even with an error factor here and there it is pretty impressive the database, thanks for sharing!:ok:

It seems you have a contradictory argument here, whereas, if nothing is for free in this field then did you or did you not download for free this database even if it has some errors, are you saying that Jeppesen’s database is better? Or is AC-U-KWIK (http://www.acukwik.com/) better that half of the numbers in there are home numbers?

Our company paid for it and I wanted to share it with the others this info and it did not bring me 1 USD, thus, I’ve seen it as a necessary “torrent”, maybe this info will help somebody at his work and perform better and be paid more, I mean from all that crap which is there I’m pretty sure that still there is something to be used from the package!

Be more optimistic my friend in life as with this attitude you will fail to be proactive, I’ve searched for 3 years a job till I’ve got it and literally I’ve paid a lot for my education and I was hovering in Hotels, but, I was optimistic and I’ve succeeded in holding my space in the aviation industry, it is hard if your daddy isn’t a big somebody!it just :mad:

Oh and Jerry, if you knew the aviation business then you would know that being suspicious of things that either do not sound right or not taking things at face value and doing a bit of homework is how you stop yourself from being ripped off or worse, having an accident.

Hi all,

In the end I had more fun :E reading this post than that the link would provide me some usefull info. After a very quick scan I see some info which is totally outdated and simply incorrect. However, having said this, the contacts of the various countries could be usefull for some operators.

Regarding the dicusssion whether or not to use an agent, this all comes down to the experience of the dispatch department. Approaching 6 different CAA's will in the end cost more time than sending one quick message for all CAA to a dedicated permit agent. And as time is money, the counting is easy. This of course heavily depends on the rate per permission to be paid.

Alas gents,

The bashing aside, sounds to me like there might be a genuine need for such a website/tool.
Proper background on each and every country in terms of permits, immigration, do's, dont's, etc., pre-produced forms ready for filling out, and to pay for it all, some form of fee-based charges.
Lots of logistics involved but I can see various ways of dealing with the predicatable issues.

Any takers?
