Controlling a Virgin Atlantic A340-600 the other night, we noticed a row of three amber lights horizontally above each wing on the fuselage, and neither us or the pilots knew what they were for. Curiosity is peaked and figured if anybody would know, it would be you guys: What are they for? Something must have been shorting out as never seen them before but just want to know their intended purpose

It is most like illumination/guiding lights for the overwing slide when deployed.

Here you can see the 3 lights aft of the overwing door.

Thanks very much! We figured it'd be something like that, but nice to get confirmation. Curiosity sated
