[Non-PC] This (http://www.watoday.com.au/wa-news/stranded-whale-blown-up-20100902-14r6c.html) is what Aussies do with whales....[/Non-PC]

At least it was for the right reasons. Some tosspot scum box in Manchester ripped the horns off a goat & broke it's legs a couple of days ago. Vets had to put the poor thing down for kindness.

There are some disgusting creatures out there.

As Vera Lynn sang, "Whale meat again, Don't know where, Don't know when."

One hopes they didn't waste the meat, and slow roasted some smoked cabrito. Waste not want not.
Despite being classified as red meat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_meat), goat is leaner and contains less cholesterol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cholesterol) and fat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fat) than both lamb (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamb_and_mutton) and beef (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beef). This makes it healthier to eat, but can require low-heat, slow cooking to preserve tenderness and moisture.

It is said that laughing is good for one's well-being. In that case every local council should have a 'Redneck Dept' complete with some C-4 and a film crew, for dealing with unplanned events. I would actually enjoy paying my council tax if this was how it got spent!

Exploding whale carcass(es) is something that several local authorities have done wrongly - at least once.

You would think that there would be a central store of 'intelligence' about such disposals.
