Hi everybody! It's my first time in India and I'm traveling south on a zed fare before training it back north. Does anybody know if Jet Airways allows other pilots on a zed fare to ride in the jumpseat if there are no seats available in back? Perhaps it's all captain's discretion? Thanks!

Hi....

Officially, the only flight crew that can jumpseat on 9W are 9W/S2 flight crew with the captain's consent.Of Course, there are the DGCA mandated people , eg. FID's , ATC, MET,AAI observers etc. who are also authorized to travel in the cockpit but it's quite rare.

Do u work for an Indian carrier holding an Indian Airport entry pass? In 9W or S2, I have noticed that "captain's discretion" is rarely used as it could get the "captain" into trouble if found out by the company. Plus how would the captain justify to commercial and security staff that the pax holding a boarding pass (ZED ticket) be shown as ACM in the cockpit ????

Can get complicated and ugly :=for the captains concerned....hope this helps.
