John was a super guy and an wonderful pilot. He thought me to fly the 748,and made it a pleasurable experience. You no longer need an aircraft John, you have your own wings now and Angles as an escort.
Delighted to have known you.

I first met John, doing our wet drills together at Runcorn baths over 16 years ago.
What a ball that was, and he became my long time friend, flying together on and for the next 13 years. He could make the 748 look so easy, and what a character.
He wiil be sadly missed by all the ex Emerald gang.
Thoughts go to Chris, his wife and best friend.
RIP.

John was a remarkable man
Totally dedicated to Emerald, working all hours of the day & night to get the job done.
Totally unfazed by incidents - he'd seen them all before.
Very supportive of youngsters & inexperienced pilots.
I had many a check ride with him & always learnt something new.

I was devastated to hear the very sad news of John's passing. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
I flew with John at Emerald and I am a better person and pilot for having had the privelege to know him. John was a remarkable pilot and having been an instructor in the USAF on the F1-11 fighter bomber flying the 748 was a breeze. I still recall many happy stories to fellow pilots about Catain Koller, the Texan with a great attitude to life and flying. Flying with John without an auto pilot in the worst of weathers and in the dead of night used to be fun!
John is the only person who I have met who could literally sleep on a close line at the drop of a hat. Sleep well John.

John Koller had a good send off at the service in Pontefract. Christine Koller was delighted to read your posts and will take these to the USA in John's Book of Remembrance for his family in Texas to read. Should anyone else wish to be included in the book please post here or send a pm.
When Christine goes to America she will take John's ashes with her.

Thank you all for your support.

It is very sad to hear of the death of one of our former colleagues. John was a very respected Captain and I was proud to have had the opportunity to have known him and flown with him. Never misses anything even when you think he is sleeping between flights while unloading. Wish I had the ability to power nap even now would be great. He will be sadly missed by all of us. Condolences to all of his family. RIP

So sorry to hear of the passing of Capt John Koller. Great guy, great pilot and great sense of humour. In my eight and a half years with Emerald, I never heard anyone say a bad word against him. My thoughts are with his wife and family.

Goodbye John
