Heard on the radio this morning that a "light aircraft with 3 POB, went down at Maltahoë. No serious injuries. Owner of the aircraft is a doctor from Swakopmund". Anyone got more info on this?

Engine problems after take-off. Landed straight ahead, but over shot the r/w. No serious injuries. V5-EYS (PA28) suffered some damage.
Best bit: the owner notified our wonderful DCA, but they couldnt find the farm Urusis, so the owner had to arrange alternate transport to get DCA to the scene of the accident. :D

Nearly beats the air traffic control here in Botswana

"I'm going down, engine failure 4 miles short of the runway"

Long pause

"aircraft calling, say again"

Z-ROS crashed a few moments after t/off

No injuries but at least authorities did locate aircraft. Small wonder it crashed into a school under construction

The School has been there for a while. It is on the extended runway center line of 06 at Charles Prince.

dr27,

Yes Bud....you are quite right. It is the second time in a year that an aircraft has nearly hit that school. Last year a C206 just missed the school block and crashed next to the soccer pitch! Fortunately no injuries but the plane was trashed!
