any one know of reasonable priced decent accom for stays of several weeks at a time

Aeroclub at Wilson Airport has decent accom, although I assume not for the length of stay you desire.
Another option is Ngong House, just behind Wilson in the suburb of Karen.

I guess it depends on whether you have wheels, what your plans are etc. Aeroclub is OK, but a bit on the expensive side for a couple of weeks (Ksh5000/nite B&B). There are self ontained cottages for Ksh2500-3000 per nite around the Karen/Langata area, but you need transport. The Camp Site in Karen is good and you can get single rooms, meet the smellies passing through and check out the wild life on a Wed/Fri nite. Not too sure of their current rates. Taxis are available for pre-negotiated rates, no meters there.....Stay a few days at Aeroclub, then speak to people to find the better deals out there.
