I have had quite a bad pain in my forehead whilst sat in the cruise - gradually gets worse during climb and eases in descent - just about back to normal on the ground.

I have been suffering a cold and have recovered - I can clear my ears no problems and have no problem at all on the ground.

I'm guessing its some trapped air in my sinus (just above my nose) but any ideas how to get rid of it? I'm typing this message sat at home with no problems and no pain.

Been sat in the cruise at 36000ft this evening - approx 7000ft cabin altitude.

Ideas????

Thanks.

It would seem to be sinusitis. Often the pain becomes worse if you bend down.
If the sinuses are not draining then, as you say, any air that is trapped will expand/contract with changes in the external air pressure. The pain can be quite severe. The problem is often seen during the hay-fever season, when inflammation of the lining of the sinuses becomes inflamed and obstructs the "drainage holes" in the sinus cavities.
A course of antibiotics should clear the problem.

Plenty about this - ever some a few weeks ago.

Search Loose rivets - medical forum - salt water . saline water. etc.

Anyone that's read First Light, will know how it will go if neglected.

Believe me, the relief as of the fist squelch of warm saline hitting the spot is incredible. Sniffing like hell and then doing it again, and again, while inverted over the bath or sink.

Went to docs, prescribed nasal spray. Within 2 days it had gone.

Thanks for your help!
