Was she a 14 year old flight attendant? The youngest pilot in UAE? Did the bus driver also fly planes?
I have a problem seeing how this relates to aviation.

Hey, MAS.....there are lots of pilots in the sandpit with teenage daughters having to deal with pervs over there. The bus driver is ' also ' a driver like you and I, instead of the scarebus, he drives an omni bus.

About a decade ago, I asked a SEAsian line instructor of mine as to why did did not make his way to the sandpit; he told me he would never ever raise his family in the land of pervs and sub humans.

This is a timely reminder for our fellow aviators in the ME to keep a close watch over their young families.

Whats hacks me off about Dubai, and I know it's only one of the Emirates, is that their tourism industry is built on prostitution, the hotels are full of hookers and their clients, and I have no problem with that, but it's the utter hypocrisy which allows that to happen whilst they state that 'extra-marital sex' is illegal.

When 18 year old girls arrive by the planeload from Chisinau, Kiev, Minsk and Lagos or Asmara with nothing but a pair of knickers in their luggage and $20 for a two week stay, do the authorities really think they are bona fide tourists?

Wait till you witness drunken hookers (U.S, Russian, Nigerian) in the company of their local hosts in Saudi at breakfast. No doubt these noisy occasions followed interesting evenings of "entertainment" for their Arabic clients.

Saw this quite a few times in JED in a good hotel while on the Hajj. Hypocrisy doesn't even come near to describing the situation. Same across much of the Middle East region.

I think the problem is that her family complained to the police that she was raped by the driver in question. Based on that the police were compelled to investigate. Having found that her accusation was without merit what do expect they would do? This place is tolerant to a point, but we are where we are. Nobody is going to kick down your door to see what you're up to but if you throw it in their faces the result will be predictable.

"But in the UAE, The National said, sex-related offences are tried according to Sharia, or Islamic law, under which defendants who have reached puberty are tried as adults."

IS THIS A F*#KI*G JOKE???????
