:ouch:HELLO FELLOWS!

Hi i'm pushkraj form INDIA . I have Airbus A320 & Embaer E170 type ratings. But no time on type. :bored:
I got my A320 rating as i was given a LOI from a company sayin I will be inucted after the course but tht thinig never happened. after that i joined Star Aviation in Chennai but even that didnt work out! But unlike A320 rating I didnt have to pay for my E170 rating.

Well for now I am unemployed and looking for a job!
:ugh:s

I have been thinking of doin line training so that i can get 300/500 hrs on type but thing is if i wait further 6-9 months my First company will induct me ( the one whch gave me LOI). But when i join them my pay will be less for quite some time!! :yuk:
Now if I do 300/500hrs on type i will be in a different bracket and will be able to recover my money soon! invested in line training program.:E

People I need your advice what ou think I should do? As i have ran out of ideas.... :ugh:
Would be glad if there are any institues other than "eagle JET" providing line training on A320.

I am type rated on ICAO DGCA indian & FAA license.

need help ....
thank you.

I don't wish to sound callous but let's keep this in perspective.

You are Indian, your country has a population of about 1.2 billion people, the majority of whom live below the 'breadline' without a proper roof over their heads, without adequate food, sanitation, or water. You are in the fortunate position of having had the advantage of an education, and I'm sure you worked hard, and you've achieved a rating on 2 different a/c types. So that puts you in the top, let's guess, 0.05% of the population of your country, and you're bleating about being 'unfortunate.'

Much as I respect, like, and admire Indians, there is one thing I detest, and that is the complete and utter disregard that the privileged have for those less fortunate.

Keep a sense of perspective. And good luck!

Why are you unfortunate??? You paid for a type rating and are now paying the price of not ensuring a job was guaranteed at the other end.... you reap what you sow.... not unfortunate.... just stupid

Excellent and frank answers above. I like them. If you think you're situation is bad in India, in the UK it's much worse where we pay for everything and it costs 10 x more to live here.

Even in Indian now, throwing money at this career and being of the elite has no bearing on how and when you get a job anymore. So sorry to say but at this point in time and with the current world economic environment no one's going to have any advice or pitty for you.

No one deserves a jet job at 21.

I couldn’t agree more with the above comments.

Nevertheless, what you are actually saying is - ive already been humped twice and am out of pocket for an a320 TR, but i am absolutely incapable of leaning from this experience, so am loosening my trousers as we speak and preparing (quite willingly, it appears) for a right good seeing-to at the hands of Eaglejet!

With an attitude like yours and a willingness to throw good money after bad I believe that you deserve everything you get, even if you are-jus freaked out man

Why not get a normal job for a bit like the rest of the world? You may be surprised by the revelation that…(wait for it)…They pay you! It’s a cracking set-up, you’ll love it.

:D:D Capetonian,
Being an Indian could not agree with you more.We at times tend to forget how fortunate we are to have what we have and start bragging about little hardships of our lives!!(which in this case hardly a hardship at all!!).I am sure you have seen those who are struggling and fighting hard to avail even the most basic necessities of life from a very close angle.

So, you had LOI, I presume 'I' means intent or interest. I'm not that current at the possible abbreviations. So you paid for A320 TR. No job after. What's the point of speculative TR without job contract? If you really have to pay up.

Care to mention why it possibly didn't 'work out' with Star after THEY PAID the E170 TR? Sounds strange to me, investing in you and then dumping you. There must be more to the story.

If you really consider paying for the FO seat, well, you don't deserve to be called professional pilot. The 'line training' has been the downfall of airline industry for flight crew it and it'd only get worse and worse.

Do you at least have FAA CFI certificate? Instructing in some neighbouring countries at least, better piston job than nothing. Or is that below your level?

Yes sure not telling, profile London, but TR and line training in Asia, low hours, and you want to make us believe you are not a P2F pilot!

"humanperformer" you are not a professional pilot.

If you are paying to fly, you are doing the same as a baby doing potty training!

I have heard of captains that shun people like you, sit, watch and do not touch! To be an educated GP, you seem pretty naive, and I pity the poor Captain that has to sit next to you.

Your comments that ATPL's has nothing to do with the real world, yes sure - you would not know that if you did not open a book and just studied the QB would you?

Maybe it was below you to open a book and read, as maybe you think because you was a GP that you was already smart enough!
Now your counter comment will of course be I am jealous because I do not have the money to do this myself! Ha - wrong - I can get the money if I have to, I have thought of it in the past, still if pilot's are so desperate to ruin their own future, then sod it! I will take my chances of landing a proper job, ahead of being another nerd who spends thousands of pounds, to sit in the front of a cockpit, than after 300 or 500 hours, I get replaced by someone else!
Because that is what will happen with you! Finish, and then next one please!

Now I wonder if you so smart as you think, why didnt you at least get in to RYR, at least you only pay for your TR, and have a good chance of keeping your job when you have finished your training on line!

Sure the Beancounters are to blame, because they have given you a lollypop, while you have given them another reason NOT TO EMPLOY FO's! Do you think after 500 hours on line you will be promoted to Captain? LMAO!!!

I thought you had to have a brain to become a doctor, apparently that does not apply for everyone!

Let me ask you this, when you was working as a doctor, how would you feel if some doctor started paying his patients to be treated! Does not that sound absurd?
You would not be needed anymore "humanperformer" - that is the same as you are doing now, just because you have money, that does not mean you have half a brain. Just because you used to be a GP, and now you are P2F pilot, does not mean you are better than others!

Definition of Professional:
Used to describe a competent person, someone who is very good at their job and does it seriously.
Professional also describes someone who does a job for money, rather than as a hobby.

Now someone who also pays to work, isn't even an amateur, he must be an idiot! Or as Pink Floyd sang, Just Another Brick in the Wall!

i want to get in on P2F scheme, is there any in europe? PM me pls

Three things:
1. If you had read this thread up until this point, you should be prepared for a "slightly" negative response...
2. For God's sake do your own research, it seems like you would be willing to pay me £30000 if I promised you P2F scheme, which by the way is as good as any other P2F scheme out there so PM me (I have a kite and conditions are windy)
3. You have made 10 posts to this date so should be aware that this is not the place for that sort of request.

Best wishes. :D

I would apologise for the change in topic but this thread doesn't seem to be going anywhere anyway as Pushkraj is refusing to face the music.

Do shut up you self righteous bunch of .....! I bet half of you work for ryanair or the like, while you bat on about what is happening to our industry. Gleefully handing over thousands of pounds to play airline pilot, you are all the same P2F or not.

MagicTiger
16th Aug 2010, 09:07
shaun ryder - wake up!
Still paying for your TR is NOT P2F!

I do not agree with all Ryan Air stands for, but it is still work, where you get paid to do a job!

Not someone paying the airline to sit in the Cockpit!

Paying for your TR might become the norm., but not paying for line training, 300 or 500 hours - it is nothing about being self righteous!

I would not have a problem to work for RYR, but no way I would be the idiot giving XX.XXX thousands of pounds to an Airline, and then be their slave! BS! :ugh:
But you are welcome to waste your money, because next one will do the same when you have your 500 hours!
500 hours you will not be qualified for command, and FO's are paying to sit there, so no use having you there anymore after, because "BAD ECONOMICS" for the bean counters.

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail! You get your 500 hours, next please, bye bye Mr 500 P2F F.O! New FO replaces you, another bites the dust! :ugh:

lander66
16th Aug 2010, 16:54
you are all the same P2F or not

No. Some people care about the future for pilots so they discourage P2F, whereas others don't care as long as they have their job...I guess you are one of them.

Still paying for your TR is NOT P2F!

No but it is still a huge amount of money a lot of us don't have and technically you are still paying to fly in a sim, maybe without a secure position at an airline.

WELL First of all i started this thread just to know what all people think about my situation.

And tho' it might be rude. But its very frank i believe.

Liked the threads by CAPTION.... magic tiger...
went through the threads given....

Well i feel unfortunate because the 2nd company which i joined jus ran out of the capital because of recession so had to close it... & 1st company just didnt acknowledge the LETTER OF INTENT. So for now i'm finishing of my Higher Education.

Well somebody pointed out that in india still many are deprived of the basic neccesity & to be exact its 26% of the population is below poverty line. And i'm well aware of the situation over rather than u just braging about any false idea you got. Over here in INDIA everything is in large scale for e.g there are 2 million jus in the indian army whch can easily be more than that of a population of any small country...

anyhow the thing is not over here of comparing. I also tried my hand on the flying instruction thing but here in india there are already flight schools have enough instructor.
And i never entered this field thinkin of that after my training i'll be given a spanky new jet liner to fly... I tried for job in aerial photography in USA n flying an aircraft in BELIZE. But all this involved getting a work permit whch the company was not giving it & i was not intrested in doin anything ill legal.
So for now i'm sitting at home finishing off my higher studies. & hoping for something comes up.

& in future i wont mind payin for my time as wel if condition gets even worse.. I would like to make an efficient use of the resources. Because I know its like any other industry where you put some capitol and then get the profits.. Its simple as that every one has an option ... the person will decide what is good / bad according to him! ITS THT SIMPLE!!

TR with job attached!

From what I have heard not many have been rejected by RYR after you have completed your TR, probably if you mess up!

Not ideal, but probably the best a low hour pilot can hope for today. And I have heard of more companies that make you pay for your TR, also many smaller TP operators.

The lesser of the evils! But maybe one day this will again change, we hope. Personally I would take the job with RYR if I was offered this, I am not going to be a hypocrite, and I believe 99% of us would, if we just could get the cash together!

But P2F, NO!!!

Well this topic related to Aviation and please stick to it.!!

I very well know my job options in other fields.( I.e otheer than flying)

If you have any comment of aviation part i will appreciate it!

But If you want to talk jus non sense-:}

then call up your british copmany call centre where an indian guy (not so qualified probably high school drop out) will reply you in a very polite manner will outsmart you ,still be able to take out money from you , you will have to pay for the call + the UK taxes!! :p
In short you will be screwed! :D

So better stick to aviation. Kind request.;)

Poeli
16th Aug 2010, 17:19
The only one who is screwed here are you I think:}

Maybe you can look for a job out of aviation and try to pay your debts? As in today's world, I doubt you would find a flying job.

pushkraj
16th Aug 2010, 17:23
NO debts here buddy... yup ur right... this time wont get a job in flyin... so just finishing with my higher studies.

& my only concern here was to stick to aviation ... is that too much i'm askin for?? i dont think so..

ooow, okay, unfortunate, in the sense that you don't have a flying job, not in the sense that you have waisted a lot of money. there must be stil a lot of it-> just keep throwing that cash in the airline direction and a job will pop up!
make sure that flyingjob is just for fun though and not to return the cash payed....

@Shaun Ryder - You need to engage brain before mouth, read what the post is about, or better still - 'shut the f*ck up while grown folks is talkin'

@Pushkraj - I appreciate that you may be desparate and thus you are considering paying for a job however this will do little for yourself, your CV or the industry as a whole. These companies like EJ prey upon the desparation of the newly qualified with the full knowledge that 500hours on type will do little to improve your chances of success in getting a job when they kick you out (it sticks out like a sore thumb on your resume actually) but will net them a tidy profit whilst making sure that the airline will forever be disenclined to hire a low hours pilot in thier own country as they now have a revenue stream coming from the HR dept.

Grow yourself a pair and get job-hunting like everyone else.

Personally i could never respect a pilot who has paid for line hours with EJ, its just not cricket. Nevertheless this is different from Ryr, paying for your own TR seems to be a neccesary evil for some people. Whilst i wont knock them for it its simply not for me.
