if we are flying a ferry flight-low takeoff weight about 62000kg-runway is about 3000m length-what is our best flap cofig ,some say 1 and some claim 2 they say 1 for a better performance and less drag others say keep 2 in order to have the low energy warning active.any idea.

The Low Energy Warning is inhibited with TOGA selected - one would hope that the crew would recognise the low energy situation before the FAC. I don't think it is a factor in the decision.

Hi Gents,

Regarding flap settings on the bus, our co policy is now to use 1+F (Unless stated otherwise under certain conditions written in our SOPs). I find that at relatively high weights on long runways with high Flex temps we get a long t/o roll... VR usually around high 150s. A/C tends to twitch quite a bit at that speed on the ground.

Best option i found to use Conf 2 with packs off t/o. gives lower V speeds, plus generally same flex as 1+F. In the event of an RTO, I feel the a/c would be easier to handle at slightly lower speeds, albeit 10-15 knots lower!

Just my 2 cents.
