When oi were a lad ..... we used to see loads of butterflies, but they seem to be becoming rarer. This beauty stopped by the other day to join us for breakfast.

Can anyone identify him please. The tail number is not very clear!

Edit : (Before someone else says it, from the short shadows, you can see it was a very late breakfast!)

I'm no David Bellamy, but I reckon it's a butterfly or a moth.

Tiger Swallowtail? Missing the starboard tailcone. Standard Butterfly ID with thin, unadorned antennae.

Don't they stick in your throat?

Thanks. By the way forgot to add that the location was near Lugano.
