I used to work at BZZ and applied for a job with Air Tanker. I was turned down for the ops managers job but was told "we would like you to apply for the dispatchers job". I did apply and was told the job would not be starting until 2011 or maybe even 2012 !
Do you have any better info ? I enjoyed working at BZZ. I worked there for Flyglobespan till they sadly went bust !

AT are advertising again for Rostering Manager in Flight Intl.
I know of 2 more than capable Rostering Managers who have had interviews and been declined for dubious reasons (i suspect they want someone on the cheap). If anyones out there with supervisory skills i'd apply and just blag it and you could find yourself in a good job

Had 2 interviews also, but heard nothing after emailing a couple of times gave up! presumed declined

Curious why they changed job title from Crew Scheduling Manager to Crew Rostering Manager.

I was interviewed for the Ground Ops Manager alas I was declined but noticed it has been advertised again recently. Are they just following procedure so that all the posts will go to ex RAF staff?

Best of luck to them.

I am not implying AT engage in this practice, but there is a history of low pay with companies on these type of MOD contracts. There is a feeling that ex-service people will accept the jobs on lower salaries as they have a forces pension that would compensate for the short fall. An awful way to do business IMHO, but that's economics for you! :suspect:

I've applied for a few jobs at Air Tanker, registered for updated vacancies and have to say i'm not impressed by their tactics or more to the point lack of communication.

I saw on a previous vacancy mailout that you have to have lived in the UK for the last 5 years. What's that all about?

Is this a repeat ? :ugh:

Just after the job I went for, the specs changed to include security vetting details. I assume (dangerous I know) that the UK resident requirements are to do with that, being a military operation.

Air Tanker have readertised the Crew Rostering Manager again.
Strange given that they have declined 2 very capable RM's i know...
I suspect the problem is they put the position under Ops Manager (RAF) whereas if it was put under the DFO (ex XL) he'd get word on the street about the right person. The guys i know who got declined because of odd reasons like "recent experience of writing manuals" er?:\

Anyone got an interview this time for the rostering manager job?

Hi all,

Just to answer a couple of points....

As has already been pointed out, the residency requirements of being in the UK for 5 years are for DV and SC reasons, due to the nature of the operation and who Air Tanker are working alongside.

Whilst the company does have it's fair share of ex military staff, there are more civilians here than military. All posts are NOT going to ex military staff, I can guarantee you of that!

The company is, rightly so, setting it's recruitment standards incredibly high, particularly at the stage it's at and the challenging integration it faces between civilian best practices in a military environment. The list of pre-requisites is extensive in some areas, hence why some may have unfortunately fallen by the wayside, and in no way is that meant to offend, so apologies if it did!

Good luck to all, and keep an eye on the website.

Avgas.

i have applied for a number of the ops posistions for Air Tanker during the last 12 months and have had no success as of yet. Will keep trying though. I have a lot of experience in different spectrums of Flight ops but still cannot get my foot in the door.:\
