Does anybody know why FUE was closed yesterday morning? It was total chaos the rest of the day, did it have something to do with the Hapag-Lloyd 737-400?

Thought the HL 737 had a burst tyre?

Yes, I think so. Take a look at yerterday's local news:

Why immediately calling this a Crash ? ( title of the post)
The reason it made the news was that the aircraft blocked the runway and most flights were diverted, and this caused "violent reactions "from the Pax according the newspaper quoted above.

We have enough bad publicty at the moment....without adding some sentation ourselves.

Not too sure, but I had heard (By a reliable source) that they had declared a fuel emergency, and then landed in FUE. How they blew a tyre and blocked the runway, I dont know. I have not heard anything on that.

ATC watcher, couldn't agree any more....

We are complaining day in day out about the media and their wrong and misleading interpretations....here we see our own people falling into the same trap...strange and sad! <img src="mad.gif" border="0">
