When I put such a course together professionally, and was having meetings with big airline recruiters - they said yes.
Real world experience however, is largely that it makes little difference in the short term. Long term it *may* make a significant difference in developing your career, particularly into management.
That said, I think that an ATPL course dressed up as a degree probably has little value; it's hard degrees (particularly engineering or management) with substantial aviation content that will make a difference.
