I bought a new Dell Desktop a while ago. I am very happy with it except for one thing. It came with 64 bit W7. That is OK in itself but it will not work one program in particlar - A Log Book Program. I have found I can work the 32 bit version of IE (and that sorts out a number of problems with the 64 bit version.) Is there any way you can make 64 bit W7 emulate 32 bit W7 so it will run this program?
64-bit Windows runs 32-bit programs in 32-bit emulation automatically, you don't need to do anything.
That said, you can enable additional backwards-compatibility shims by right-clicking the EXE, click Properties, select the Compatibility tab and check "Run this program in compatibility mode for...". Just pick a suitably ancient OS (like Windows XP) from the list and try it.

As you say you only have 1 program that doesn't work - why not try things from the opposite point of view, and tackle the supplier of the log program which won't work on 64-bit W7?
You may find they have an upgrade which works (and fixes bugs, adds features, etc).
