Does anyone remember this AF wingtip strike?

Memory fails me :confused: I'm assuming wind shear?

Is it genuine?

It positively screams PhotoShop. Save the pic and re-open it, and blow it up 300%, and you'll see that the plane isn't even in line with the runway, but is angled at 45° to it. The plane angle is totally out of kilter with regard to any normal approach.

EoR ... This one is real:

March 1/08 Airbus A320 D-AIQP operating as Flight LH 044.

On landing runway 23 Hamburg Germany, in very windy conditions, the aircraft was caught by a gust lifting its right wing up causing its left wingtip to strike the runway. Pilots were able to go-around for a 2nd safe landing on runway 33.

Damage to leading edge and left winglet.

Zoom in on the left main gear and the nose gear and you can see what a sloppy job of Photoshopping it is.

The Moderator is more than welcome to delete the entire thread.

Little wonder I didn't recall the incident!

I especially like the way the smoke from the left main gear touchdown is still there.

Very spectacular, but so obviously fake that a lot of us jumped in with all sorts or reasons why it could not possibly be real.
See thread http://www.pprune.org/jet-blast/397190-its-breeeeeeezy.html
Then the photographer turned up on the thread with some more photos of the incident.
Had to wind neck in rather rapidly and apologise profusely. :\

Looks like there's still a chock under the port main undercarriage! :}
