At the airline I work for, all the talk in the crew room is of the Sandpit. Nearly every FO with sufficient hours, and a surprising number of captains, are applying and the Fleet Captain has allegedly signed off a large number of logbooks for inspection in Dubai over the last few weeks.
Management have gone on record saying we will be under crewed in the near future.
A conversation with the Fleet's chief Training Captain suggests that there are very few experienced pilots out there left to recruit. He thinks MPL cadetships will be offered pretty soon.
Anyone else heard similar? Are things about to start moving for low hours guys?
