Good evening!

I am about to renew my UK issued MEIR in Spain and I was wondering if any of you guys know what it entails paperwise. I thought it would be just a straight forward procedure but after some bureaucratic problems with my medical renewal over here I don't want to get myself in trouble again...

Any tricks and tips on the subject??

Thanks guys!

Just print off the forms from the CAA website and take them with you, also get a photocopy of the examiners approval certificate to send to the CAA with the forms.

You will need the forms for the examiner to fill in, you will then need to take a copy af all his certificates and then send it off to the CAA once you've passed. I've done it a few times without any problems.

Yes, and for anyone elses information the initial application is form SRG1193:

SRG1193: Inclusion of an Instrument Rating Aeroplane in a JAR-FCL Pilot's Licence - Application (for IR courses not approved by the UK CAA) | Publications | CAA (http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=33&pagetype=65&appid=11&mode=detail&id=2617)
