I have been working in electronics/mechanical engineering mainly in the military/civil avionics side of things for the past 15 years. So i am looking for a fitters/avionics role. I have a degree in Engineering and have a mechanical craft certificated background.

Question is do you guys know of any UK employers that are will to take someone on with presumed transferable skills?

Thanks in advance.

I assume you are looking for work outside of aviation. Definitely a good move as I have never seen such a shortage of advertised aircraft maintenance work as we have now. You have good transferable skills and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) come to mind, any oil field related work, industrial gas turbines and their controls. A look through the oil and gas sites on Google give plenty of results. Plenty of work being advertised, just very little for aviation.

I understand that jobs are quite rare but i was hoping to find moving from a desk jockey to work towards being licenced engineer working with GA aircraft.
