Can anyone help please - I'm trying to find out what happened to Halifax JD151 that crashed on 11 August 1943. Information found on the internet crashed between Wessell and Breighton but, I beleive there has been some further investigation and that JD151 did not crash in this area. My father was one of the lucky and survived. He was at the time serving with 78 squadron
I am trying to complete his service in the RAF for our family tree
Thank you

Hello Ruth, welcome. Did you see this: Lost Bombers - World War II Lost Bombers (http://www.lostbombers.co.uk/bomber.php?id=521) You may also get further with your enquiry on here: Historic Aviation - Key Publishing Ltd Aviation Forums (http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=4) where there's a huge number of folks with information almost at their fingertips. Good luck!

This probably does not add much to what you already know. My father was the engineer officer for 78 Squadron. His log book states that it "crashed - short of petrol". The captain was Flight Sergeant Jenkinson.
