Hi folks, Appreciate your knowledge on
1. where Curtiss C-46 Commando aircraft are still operational in 2010 (South America, Africa, Asia).
2. where derelict hulks may still be lurking at airfields (not crash sites) in Asia (India, SouthEast Asia, China)

a couple of airframes continue to fly in Canada (Buffalo Airways) and Alaska (Everts) and Confederate Air Force (airshows) but from there my research dries up very fast.

Cheers 5Bucks

There is one at the War Memorial Museum in Seoul, and I think this might be another one at Gimhae airport in Busan.

Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/maps?t=h&hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=35.188242,128.94604&spn=0.001256,0.002411&z=19)

(The Google image is a few years old and there has been a lot of redevelopment at the airport so I am not sure if this is still the exact location)

Cochabamba in Bolivia has a number of active C46's as well as a DC3 and C117D. Photographed this one in March this year.

Manila airport recently

Really? Not in April/May when I was there, only the Daks and Connie (almost all wfu).

Everyone - the question was about OPERATIONAL C-46s. You are all listing museum pieces, as intersting as they are, it doesn't answer the question.

Regards,

RR

By the way, nice one HAmrah!!!

Ridge runner you need to re-read the original question. Pay particular attention to line 2....

2. where derelict hulks may still be lurking at airfields (not crash sites) in Asia (India, SouthEast Asia, China)
