Have been told (probably not true) that the FAA CPL IFR /ME licence is valid in Chile and is not necessary to convert it? Also heard that the FAA Class 1 Medical is valid in Chile and (again) is not a requirement to apply and get the Chilean Class 1 if one has a valid FAA medical?
Could anybody confirm or deny the above mentioned?
Thanks.

False, you need to get the chilean medical, and the chilean license... that's it,although they could validate the hours
