HeraldNet: FBI on Harris-Moore: 'We want to get him' (http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20100706/NEWS01/707069922&news01ad=1)

Colton Harris-Moore is now suspected in the theft of a Cessna Corvalis that went missing from its locked hangar in Indiana and showed up in the Bahamas on Sunday, more than 1,000 miles away. He is also suspected to have made other flights in stolen aircraft. This latest escapade from Indiana to the Bahamas raises some interesting questions.

Did the pilot file an international flight plan and fly "legitimately?" If not, how could he fly so far across the USA and its offshore identification zone without being intercepted? Was he even detected? Did the FAA's ATC not notice an unidentified aircraft? Did ATC communicate with him and issue directions and clearances to facilitate his flight? Did he threaten any legitimate flights? A midair between an airliner and a stolen plane would take some explaining by those who are supposedly in control of the USA's airspace. Who does control US airspace? Did they learn nothing after 9/11?
