Hi Folks,

I just got in touch with local operator to fly from Istanbul main and he is supposed to provide me a housing solution. So far he only shows me alternatives within 2 km of the airport.
So here are the questions:
- is this a standard option
-how is life in this area keeping in mind that you are almost 20 km away from the city center
-and if anyone know about a good district to look for a rent...

Thanks in advance and happy landings

It depends on the individual but for me I would prefer to be out near the airport. There are great restaurants and bars there and its much cheaper and less stressfull than downtown. The taxi's are inexpensive so a trip into town is not a big deal. Just try to be near the coast.

Been there a couple of times recently.

Personally I like the place.

Be prepared to get ambushed at every shop front looking to haggle on stuff you don't want to buy!!!

TBH would have thought that being outside the city would be preferable.

Hope you get something suitable.
