Hey everyone, just needed some advice. I have just started flight training (full time) and after using the schools for a whole 10 days I believe that it is time I get my own. The question is, should I pay the extra $$$ and get an ANR headset or just stick with a reliable set of DC's. Thanks

ANR is clearly better. Especially if you do (or aspire to) long flights. Radio is easier to hear, noise level is less = less fatigued at the end of the flight. DC's are great, simple, reliable and indestructible, but the head clamping pressure is quite high. Its OK for an hour or so, but at the end of a 5 or 6 hour flight day it leaves you with an aching head. DC are still my choice for open cockpit, but otherwise its Bose. The "leather" ear seals on the Bose make a big difference on hot sweaty days too. DC's will squirm off your head when its hot & sweaty. Whatever you choose should be a 20+ year investment.

Here's my favorites:

A tad Bridgette Jonesy, but most functional and comfortable at the same time. Has everything the fresh 200hr CPL could ever need and available from most Pilot Shops around the country in a huge range of popular colours and sizes for even the most discerning gentlemen. G-string and T-string options are available available as well but only in South Australia.

If you flash your ASIC, you even get 10% discount.

Use the fecking SEARCH FUNCTION

We should all be 'free-balling' in Class E.

You should aim to by the MOST EXPENSIVE headset that you can.

That way, it will have the best resale value so you can sell it for a weeks rent when your job at Coles doesn't pay enough for you to survive as there are no CPL jobs around.
