I saw a Spitfire on a low loader on the A303 in Somerset this evening.
Does anyone know anything about it?

Not sure its the same one but i saw one when i passed RAF Wittering at the weekend. Maybe it was a fibreglass mockup for airshows ?

Maybe. But the rudder had been removed, presumably so that it wouldn't flap around and be damaged. I don't know if the replicas have moving control services.

Could be a coincidence but the new Biggin Hill plastic gate guardian Spit and Hurricane appeared over the last couple of days. :ok:

Armed forces day in Cardiff was yesterday and reported that there was a static display of a Spitfire there along with a Typhoon.
This could explain a sighting on the Motorway.
