$250k for two Charter Flights

I let out of low whistle when I found out that the two charters to Christmas Island to Curtin Air Base cost US TAXPAYERS, over $250,000.

What a great way to spend our money :ugh::ugh::ugh::ugh:

I take it you are really making a political statement about so called 'asylum seekers'. This is an aviation web site! But if you must; :ugh: aircraft fly, we have work, governments struggle with invaders. Unless you want an Israeli type solutions we just have to cope. There is no simple solution to this problem; though renaming the boat people 'illegal immigrants' would add some sensible perspective. And I think you meant 'we taxpayers'.

PS: I suspect that is a fair and reasonable price for a charter of that size!
