Flying along the French coast southerly years ago - came by the unusual sight of a Lockheed Constellation parked close to the coast - no airport or runways - static site - Possibly beyond Le Touquet
and Boulogne. Any one know if still there and what purpose then/now
served ?
Mate, I am going to send this over to the spotters forum, they know everything there. :)

The Le Bourget Constellation, which used to have a fifth engine on the top fuselage, is to be made airworthy. [Cheaper than a Concorde, methinks!]

That would have been F-BGNF L1049G c/n 4515 at Berck-Sur-Mer near Le Touquet.
Was located at an amusement park called "Bagatelle" from 1968-76.
Moved to Marquise 76 until 84 when scrapped.

Well, I was in a newsagents yesterday, leafing through an Aviation magazine, and my information came from a photo, and a short article saying it was to be restored!

The Le Bourget Constellation I referred to is F-ZVMV, Which served with Air France from 1945 to 1960. It is to be restored fully [whether or not airworthy -I may have been misled] and repainted in the colours that it flew with Air France, and will have the registration F-BAZR. Been stored at Le Bourget since 1975. See page 3 of current 'Flypast' Magazine.
